The Emerging Therapeutic Target
Improving Therapeutic Outcomes by Treating the Intersection of Osteoporosis, Cardiovascular Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, and Arthritis

A Revolutionary Clinical Approach to Managing Imbalanced Physiology Associated with Many Chronic Illnesses
Health care has historically focused on the primacy of diagnosis as
the sine qua non, or essential condition, of treatment. For patients presenting with multiple signs
and symptoms of chronic illnesses, this medical paradigm often includes a variety of interventions
that treat each diagnosis differently. This conceptual framework has led to the development of
polypharmacy—the administration of an excessive number of medications—a paradigm that is
rapidly becoming an approach of the past.

At this seminar, Dr. Bland will explore the clinical and basic science that has led to the understanding of an intersection, or underlying physiological mechanism, associated with multiple chronic conditions, such as:
- Osteoporosis
- Cardiovascular diseases including cardiometabolic syndrome
- Type 2 diabetes
- Arthritis and other inflammatory conditions
- Insulin-mediated dementia
This revolutionary information provides the opportunity to address the therapeutic target—a cause rather than effect—of multiple chronic illnesses, enabling healthcare providers to achieve more effective clinical outcomes.
- Explore emerging research on the interaction between genetic potential and environmental factors, which influences cellular signaling
- Discover the intersection of multiple chronic conditions, which results in a therapeutic target for improved patient outcomes
- Master cutting-edge, clinical applications to address underlying physiological mechanisms of various illnesses
All Attendees Will Receive:
- A referenced, up-to-date syllabus
- Clinical pearls to help you achieve better patient outcomes
- Therapeutic protocols based on emerging science and human case studies
- An educational experience you won’t forget!
Don't miss this exciting opportunity to expand your therapeutic options and stay on the forefront of health care! Register Today by calling 1-800-692-9400!

and nutritional biochemistry, applied clinical nutrition, and functional medicine. Dr. Bland received his PhD from
the University of Oregon in 1971, and served as a professor of chemistry at the University of Puget Sound in
Tacoma, Washington for 13 years. He also served as Senior Research Scientist at the Linus Pauling Institute of
Science and Medicine, and directed the Bellevue-Redmond Medical Laboratory in Washington State. He is the
author of over 150 papers and five books on nutrition and its relationship to health and disease. For the past 15
years, Dr. Bland has produced Functional Medicine Update (FMU), a monthly audio tape in which he reviews
and synthesizes the medical literature and interviews notable clinicians and researchers.
